Q. Is astrology a "sure bet''?
A. Astrology can be used to correlate subtle energy changes in the psychology of the masses that we see show up in news events and market price changes. The movement of the planets is always predicable in time, but the REACTION of the people measured in price is still a mystery. People's responses are sometimes inverted or contrary, and people definitely exercise free will, so astrology will always have some discrepancies. Understand that, and it can be a very useful tool. Ignore this fact of life, and you will almost certainly lose money trading astro signals particularly if you ignore fundamental economics and technical signals.
Q. So where is the proof?
A. There is none. There is also no proof that gravity exits but you will find out quickly that it does if you defy it. The fact that astrology has existed longer than any other science is evidence enough that here is something to it especially when those who practiced it down through history were among the best and brightest of their time. God hides his secrets in the very biggest place that exists. Heck it wouldn't be fun if we knew everything would it?
Q. How do you use astrology as a trading tool?
A. The astro segment on the weekend update is intended to bring to light when the astro influences in the coming week which will come into play. Because I assess the exact effect of these alignments in real time, my opinions on how they are likely to manifest are updated during the week three times during the day. I always like to judge how the astro will play out from the context of the present conditions. My attempt every weekend to paint a picture of the week can be quite good some weeks and way off others. It is not FATE, but the combination of technical and astrological factors with world events which makes the markets move.
Q. Can you predict the market?
A. I get mail all the time saying, "So and So is calling for a turn on such and such date, what do you think"? I think it is usually foolish to attempt to be a hero and trade a turn before it has occurred. If there is one thing that has caused astrologers to be held in contempt, it is the tendency to always have a prediction at all times even when there just nothing solid to go on. There are rare periods when everything is clear as a bell but most of the time as Robert Miner says "trade the market not the forecast".
Q. Why should I use astrology for trading?
A. Because there is no other way to look forward in time and be able to have any clues about the actual kinds of changes that may turn up. Timing techniques based on mathematics and cycles are complementary but are no substitutes for have clues as to the QUALITY of an approaching time frame. As knowledge of how astrology really works is uncovered the mathematical relationships and cyclical rhythms may very well turn out to be almost entirely astrological in origin. In other words you may as well learn astro now because I believe you will have to trade eventually. There are some VERY sophisticated astro tools in development and unless you have some knowledge you may find yourself coming up a day late and a dollar short.
Q. How do I follow along?
A. Learning astrology is not easy. I try to ease the pain and make it fun by going along slowly every day and adding to your knowledge brick by brick instead of overwhelming you. If you are patient and put in minimal effort you will pick it up enough in a month or two to the point where you will be able to follow the comments quite easily. I doubt there is a better teacher in this regard than myself. In fact this is really what I am most proud of about AstroEcon. I tell you when and ALSO why.
